Give the 28 in-wave C/C++ projects (and gold **c** / **cxx** / **c_cxx** templates) a sorted **files.associations** union of all associations found under **~/dev**;
Align library version macros to c-cpp-standards. Define MAJOR, MINOR, PATCH, and ALPHABETA; compute PREFIX_VER by shifts; keep REVISION as a skip-section alias of PATCH (target at column 60); retain named historical VER_* constants only for comparison and documentation.
Align the top-level CMake layout with current Synesis boilerplate: - set CMP0177 when CMake >= 3.31; - default to C17/C++17, with MSVC < 1930 falling back to C90/C++98; - honour MSVC_USE_MT for the static runtime; - add LanguageFullVersion.cmake and a TargetMacros.cmake stub; - resolve STLSoft via -DSTLSOFT / $STLSOFT / find_package, raise xTests floor to 0.26, and optionally detect shwild; - discriminate targets with _BUILD_AS_UNIX / _BUILD_AS_WIN32; - install package config under CMAKE_INSTALL_LIBDIR; - emit a completion notice with language standards and build type;
Replace the secure/non-secure sprintf fork in the floating-point filter shim with fastformat_util_snprintf, clearing Apple Clang's deprecated sprintf error under -Werror; silence -Wdeprecated-declarations for the custom_type.inserter example that still calls sprintf;
Pass file_lines entries to xTests via string-access shims instead of .c_str(); replace sprintf with bounded snprintf (and %.*s where views lack c_str) in performance harnesses.
Bring helper scripts and scratch coverage in line with Synesis boilerplate: - modernise build_cmake.sh for .sis project identity, SIS_CMAKE_* overrides, and optional target lists; - add run_all_scratch_tests.sh; - add test.scratch.versions reporting FASTFORMAT_VER and _STLSOFT_VER;

Use Dir=$(cd "$(dirname "$ScriptPath")" && pwd) so paths with spaces resolve reliably; apply the same one-line fix across in-wave helper scripts (prepare/build/clean/ctest/remove and run_all_*).
